Science Expo Blog

So last term we were givin a task. We had to gather information in the holidays and when school started again we had to present it and got judged on it. We were doing chromatography of sweets. I was with a partner, Thando, we had to chose the different parts that we were going to say.

We wanted to do something on food because all of the other ones had way to much information for us. We chose this experiment because we wanted to see which sweet was the healthiest.

The experiment went good and we remembered everything we studied. I couldn't do much on the poster but it was ok for my opinion. I enjoyed the science expo and watching everyone else do theirs.

Dr. Donut

The stop motion is all about creating a person and making a movie type video. We made a donut because we thought it would be unique, but it wasn't really. I wouldn't change anything about our character because we like the way he is. I liked making the character because I like molding things and making things out of clay. It was frustrating when we were trying to record because it was difficult to place the characters in the same place in the next lesson.

Grade 6 Camp

Hello, so we went on a camp in Rocklands, an amazing camp. It was with our whole grade and our teachers, Mr Walker, Mrs Kent, Mrs Copeland, Mrs Calitz, Mrs Van Tonder and Mr B. We left to go on the camp on the 9th of March and came back on the 12th. It didn't take long to get there, it only took about 1 hour. When we got there we waited in the hall. We went there to learn outdoor skills, and to have fun.

Some of my favorite highlights were.... Archery, it was a lot of fun and when I shot I hit the target once and then I said I was Catness from The Hunger Games and then the rest of them I was Dora the Explora! It took me long to find the arrows but then my friend had to help me find them. I liked jumping on the trampoline, they were very bouncy so it was easier to do flips. I did backflips forward flips side flips front flip twist and other flips. They had 2 trampolines so it was twice the amount of fun. I liked some of the activities some were boring some weren't. I liked playing Giant Fuzeball. It was a lot of fun. I liked the Septic Tank I had to take the risk and jump and I made the jump, it was about 3m away but I didnt have a run up so it was harder. A few people fell in the mud.

My whole cabins challenge was to finish al the sweets and midnight snacks. We finally did and we were happy. I didn't have any other challenges.

I learnt about teamwork, without teamwork you don't get far. I learnt more about friendship. Camp was fun.

GOALS

GOALS

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO SET GOALS?

It is important to set goals in your life to challenge yourself and make yourself do better in some things. Some people set goals for the fun of setting goals, but that is pointless.
